
Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd. (KNT) is the official travel agency of Carbon 2008 Nagano. On-line conference registration and reservation for hotel accommodation are available at the conference web-site. Inquiries about the reservations, excursions, travel and pre- and post-conference sightseeing tours are also available through Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd.

The Carbon 2008 Nagano registration fee includes entrance to all sessions, one CD of the Proceedings, the Get-together party on July 13, the Conference Banquet on July 17,daily refreshments at the conference, daily lunch (July 14 through 17), snacks at poster sessions, and Excursion on July 17. On-line registration is available at the conference web-site. The registration is processed upon proper payments of the registration fee.

Payments of Pre-registration fees must be completed by June 30, and can be made by bank transfer or credit card (American Express, MasterCard, VISA, or Diners Club).

Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd. (KNT), has reserved rooms at hotels in Nagano for the Conference. Participants wishing to reserve hotels should fill out the registration form and transmit it together with the payment form or credit card information by on-line to KNT no later than June 30 ,2008. After receiving your and reservation request and remittance, KNT will send you a confirmation mail.

Upon receiving your registration information and remittance, KNT will send you a confirmation mail in the middle of June. Please be sure to bring this confirmation mail with you when you come to attend the conference.
For any change or cancellation of registration and/or hotel reservation, an e-mail notification should be sent to KNT.

On-Line Reservation for Hotel Accommodation
Every person entering Japan must have a valid passport. In addition, one coming from a certain country must have a visa issued by a Japanese consulate in his/her country. Please be aware that in some cases it takes more than one month to obtain a visa.

Only Japanese yen is acceptable at stores and restaurants. You can exchange money at the airport, foreign exchange banks, and other authorized exchanges upon presentation of your passport.
Participants are advised to provide their own personal insurance as the organizing committee will assume no responsibility for accidents, sickness, theft or property damages.
Japan operates on 100 volts for electrical appliances. The frequency is 60 Hz in Nagano, and 50 Hz in eastern Japan including Tokyo.
There is no custom of tipping in Japan. Instead, at places such as restaurants, bars and hotels a 10% service charge is usually added to your bill.
