Among the wild roses native to Japan, it is the largest in terms of leaf size and vine length, often found in sloping forested areas along riversides. These roses vigorously extend shoots and climb trees with sharp, hook-shaped thorns. Their flowers are relatively large, forming expansive corymbose inflorescences. In full bloom, they present a magnificent sight akin to a large white waterfall cascading down the forest surface.
Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its torii gate floating in the sea, is one of the World Heritage Sites located in Hiroshima Prefecture. It takes a short ferry ride of about 10 minutes from Miyajima-guchi on Honshu to reach the mystical island of Miyajima. Once revered as a sacred island of gods and restricted to human entry, Miyajima is now a popular spot visited by tourists from around the world, with over 4 million visitors annually in recent years.
Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street is located on the way to Itsukushima Shrine and is a popular spot for many tourists. Traditional Japanese-style buildings line the street, offering local specialties, souvenirs, and handicraft shops where you can experience Japan's traditional culture amidst beautiful scenery.
The deluxe high-speed cruiser SEA SPICA offers a journey around the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. This route from Hiroshima Port to Setoda Port takes about half a day and passes through particularly scenic areas of the Seto Inland Sea, where you can encounter the beauty and charm of the islands. Enjoy the unique landscapes of the islands and the interactions with local people that are distinctive to cruises.

Ondo no Seto is a popular tourist destination due to its beautiful scenery and historical value. In particular, there are many historical spots, such as the view from Ondo Ohashi Bridge and Ondo no Seto Park. Ondo no Seto, where you can enjoy sightseeing and historical exploration, is one of Hiroshima Prefecture's most attractive tourist destinations.
Shimanami Kaido (Setouchi Shimanami Kaido) is a 60-kilometer-long expressway and cycling route connecting Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture, Honshu, to Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku. This route connects beautiful islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea and is known for crossing nine bridges. Shimanami Kaido is popular not only for cars but also for walking and cycling, making it a favorite tourist spot, especially among cyclists.
Located on Oshima Island near Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture, along the Seto Inland Sea Shimanami Highway, this rose park was established in 1993. Spanning 2.8 hectares, it showcases around 3,500 roses from 400 varieties, ranging from old to modern types, including the Josephine rose collection. The park features a large lawn and various relaxation areas.
Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a historic district located in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, preserving buildings from the Edo to Meiji periods. Visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery along the Kurashiki River, lined with art museums, museums, traditional crafts shops, and cafes.
Featuring the majestic Mt. Daisen as a borrowed landscape, this is Japan's largest flower park where you can enjoy 2 million flowers of 400 varieties annually. It includes a 1 km roofed corridor allowing visitors to enjoy the park without umbrellas even on rainy days. Inside the corridor centered around the Flower Dome, there are European gardens, Flower Valley, Herb Garden, and Mist Garden. The European garden includes a rose garden with 900 bushes of 190 varieties blooming from mid to late May.
The gardens of the Adachi Museum of Art have continuously been ranked as Japan's best since 2003 by "The Journal of Japanese Gardening," renowned for its focus on Japanese gardens. Spanning 16 hectares, the site includes a karesansui garden, a moss garden, a pond garden, and a white sand and green pine garden. The museum's collection features modern Japanese paintings by masters such as Taikan Yokoyama and Shoen Uemura, with approximately 20 works by Taikan displayed at any time.
Located on Daikonjima Island in Shimane Prefecture, known for its tree peony production, the 4-hectare Yushi Garden features a pond and circular garden. The garden captures the topography of the Izumo region, including valleys, rivers, lakes, and the waterscape of the Sea of Japan in Okuizumo. It boasts 250 varieties of tree peonies and offers year-round viewing of their flowers. The island is also known for ginseng cultivation, and visitors can savor local cuisine incorporating ginseng within the garden. The park has earned a three-star rating from the French tourist guide, Blue Guide.
Built in 1622 by Katsunari Mizuno, a cousin of Ieyasu Tokugawa, Fukuyama Castle is the last notable castle of the Edo period constructed as a defensive stronghold in western Japan. Among its architectural structures, the Fushimi turret and the Sujiganegomon Gate are designated as national important cultural properties. Although the main castle tower was destroyed during the 1945 air raids, it was reconstructed in 1966 as part of the city's 50th anniversary celebrations. In 2022, marking the castle's 400th anniversary, the unique iron-plated exterior was restored, the only one of its kind in Japan.
