9:30 – 10:30 Hikone Castel
Hikone Castle is a National Treasure and counted among the greatest castles in the world. In spring time, 1200 trees with eight varieties of cherry, including Yoshino cherry, all bloom at once, creating a fabulous sight. The trees are also illuminated at night each year. The Hikone-jo Castle region also plays host to a performance from the Hikone City mascot Hikonyan three times a day.

We recommend you the good old and unchanged Suki-yaki, Shabu-shabu, and especially our specialty since our opening; Ishi-yaki. Ishi-yaki(=stone-grill) is the most popular of our dishes, thick steaks(fillet and sirloin) you grill yourself on a large heated stone plate, specially cut from a volcanic rock of the Mt Fuji.

12:50 – 13:20 Exploring around Kurokabe Square
The Kurokabe Square building was erected during the Meiji period (1868-1912) as a bank. It is currently used as a gallery for glassware, displaying and selling such items as glass accessories and music boxes.

14:30 – 16:00 Suigo Meguri (Boat Ride in Omihachiman)
Omihachiman is known as the castle – town in the Shiga prefecture. The boat goes along Hachiman-bori canal which was created by Oda Nobunaga during the Age of Civil Wars as a way to relax and emulate the games of the imperial court.

16:15 – 16:45 Himure Hachimangu Shrine
A veritable forest of trees grows on the vast, 44,000 square meter shrine grounds. Passing through them and then the tower gate will bring you to the shrine buildings themselves.
